ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a liaison between practice providers and office employees, and between the practice and other clinical and administrative areas.
  • Ensures that staffing is in place to meet the demands of the provider's work schedules.
  • Coordinates utilization of float pool associates and maintains associate payroll information.
  • May assist with office correspondence including invoices/statements, credit cards, petty cash, mileage forms, and reports per office policy.
  • May perform clerical or technical roles/functions.
  • Ensure staff members demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care to the patient population served.
  • May assist with the evaluation of staff's job performance including attendance, quality, and quantity of work being performed. Assists with hiring decisions and terminations.
  • Implements disciplinary actions as needed. Plans regular staff meetings.
  • Offers suggestions to improve efficiency of all office sites as well as cost effectiveness.
  • Assists with planning and purchasing of office equipment as needed.
  • Complies with CLIA, OSHA, and other regulatory agency standards. Participates in in-service programs as needed. Follows infection controls and safety policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Within scope of job, this position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Certification program and/or graduate of a certified EMT program preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER:  N/A

WORK EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of medical office experience with progressive responsibilities required.
